TANSY'S PAGE
I HATE this darn Leash!!!!
Tansy is always very cautious when approaching  someting new for the first time.
VISIT LILY
Here we'll tell you a little bit more about Tansy (Squirrel).

Tansy is about two weeks older than Lily and KNOWS she is a Prairie Dog.  She is always on the alert for precieved danger and ready to run for cover at the least strange sight or sound.  In fact Lily delights in 'scareing' her.  She calls Tansy 'scaredy dog'.
Tansy is a good name for her (devil's pepper).
She often acts like a litte monster.  Some of her nick names are Weed, Deamon Weed, Stink Weed (she likes to 'musk' any time we do something she doesn't like) and Demonica, Demond of Destruction.(she believes the world is made of bedding. It just must be shredded to the proper size!)
Tansy chews EVERYTHING!!!
She wasn't good about being spayed either.  When she woke up she ripped her stiches out!  So she had to be redone.  This time the vet used  surgical glue and staples.  When she woke up again these were swiftly removed.  So back to be re done AGAIN!  This time they also bandaged her.  She freaked out so they cut the bandage up the back to loosen it.  She and Lily were suppose to stay over night.  By  2:30 the Vet was calling for us to COME RESCUE THEM FROM OUR PRAIRIE DOG!  Three days later Tansy managed to loosen the bandage enough that she could reach her staples and remove them.  Back to the vet for new staples and a new bandage.  This was looser than the first one but tight enough so she couldn't reach under it.  So she threw a 3 hour temper fit biting everything in site except me.  Ten days later she had to be completely redone again because she'd managed to pop open a place and it wasn't healing properly.  This time, to everyone's relief, she left everything alone and healed properly.  The vet told us that she was the WORST prairie dog he'd ever operated on.  Fortunately, like Lily, she's been very healthy and hasn't had to go back.
As you can see from the pictures below  Tansy likes to climb.  This chair is her favorite thing to climb on outside of 'moms'.  When she gets up on top we alwasys caution her by saying,"Careful or you'll go SPLAT and bang your nose! "   She understands and shows it by being cautious.
These three pictures are so typical of Tansy's behavior that I just had to include them.  She's alway very cautious.  Anything out of place arouses her suspicions.
Here's a picture of Tansy in the 'site' cage.  My sisters and I are medieaval merchants (we travel  to various Faires all Spring and Summer.).  When I'm at an event my girls go too.  We set up a tent so that they don't have to be on a leash or in a cage all day.
Here Tansy is doing her FAVORITE  thing.  CHEWING!  She loves the sound of threads breaking.
I think this looks so funny!  All stertched out like a lizard on a warm rock.  It is prairie dog for 'groom me please.'
It's lunch time!  One of their favorite ,and most natural food, is fresh grass.  When picking grass for them you must be sure that it is chemical free and is not contaminated by car exhaust such as that found within 3 feet of the road.

Becaue Tansy isn't the dominate dog she's always testing to see where her place is in the 'cotrie'.   She can be a bit of a bully.  Here she is biting my husband.  She's not biting hard but she will if you don't yell OUCH!!
Tansy likes to climb to the highest point she can reach to better look for danger.  While she's up there it's nice to have something to chew on too.
She's recently decided that cuddling with her 'moms' is a good thing.  here she is with one of my sisters.

If you have any questions about my girls please either sign our guestbook or email us.
Tansy is doing her second favorite thing, gathering nesting material and working on their nest.
In the following 3 pictures she's doing her best to gather up my T- shirt to add it to her nest.
